Maori visit!

Today was a great day..not too much work and we had a big maori family visiting us:) Really nice people, very open and friendly! The dad was so cool and had a big tatoo in his face...i think thats very common in the maori culture.
Me and dave got entertained by a group of women in the garden singing maori songs and playing on their lukkeleles(spelling failed), it was great:)
Before they left one of the women asked if we wanted to come to her home in Bay of Plenty in the north island and work for living, like we do now. It would be gardening and painting her house and she said she will take us out to some real "maori things".
WOuld be great to learn more and get introduced properly to the maori culture:)
... although we were planning to move towards the south island and do grapefruit picking after this, but that can always wait a few weeks..
We have another alternative aswell as we today got introduced to another lady who has contacts in the farming and fruitpicking business and she said she would love to help us out when we go down to the south island. That would be a paid job, which we will need sooner or later!

It will all work it fine im sure:)

here we have a photo of the pancake rocks!! and it doesnt have anything to do with this blog except that i miss pancakes!!!

Now im looking forward to a nice dinner, bangers and mash:) korv o potatis! a little break from all the roasted dinners were having every night:) getting so spoiled here with the food...its gna be hard going back to cocking our own again after this:)

Talk again soon.

river valley and dolphins

A week we have now spent in River Valley and we are having a great time. Especially now when the weather is good so we can be outside and enjoy the beautiful river, play volleyball, sunbathe...first 4 days was rainy n really cold.
Today the sun was shining all day.
Whenever we get free time we go down to the river... today we jumped in from a rock, sooo cold but soo energizing!!!:)

Its a great atmosphere here.. everyone working and living together...our chef is so kind and appreciative, gives us amazing food and cakes...and she sings out load all the time...her voice isnt the best but it makes it fun to work:)!
Also cos the lodge is so cosy and with a big fire in the middle, it would be the perfect place to celebrate christmas...we dont know where we will celebrate yet... but im sure we will make it cosy wherever we are...maybe on a beach:) i just dont want to have a bbq for christmas dinner..im gna get lingonberry jam from the swedish bakery in nelson n find some meatballs:) maybe try to make a janssons frestelse....and rodbetssallad...mmm. prinskorv!!

During this month i have realized im not an extreme sport person (johanna). I have not done anything extreme yet and today i decided not to do the white water rafting...i really thought i was going to do it but no...haha. A swedish girl did it today and the boat she was in flipped over twice in the big waterfalls n she banged her hip on a rock so she got all swollen n many people were freaking out.
This is apparently the most dangerous place to do it in.
Dave did it yesterday though and loved it. He loves the extreme.. I enjoy the safe sports more...playing volleyball....swimming in the river...and im gna do horse riding!

oh yeah.....i swam with wild dolphins in beautiful kaikora a week n a few days ago:) it was so amazing and i cant describe the feelings i had when the dolphins swimming around me in circles...the most overwhelming and best thing ive ever done.....never been so high on life!

Going to bed now, talk soon again. hope your all great! :)
