HELLO HUDIK!

Hey friends!

well we are back in glada (happy) hudik, and trying to find ourselves some jobs.

The trip to hudik has had its ups and downs...

the ups...

Oslo. We had an awesome time in oslo, snooping around and sneaking into the national theatre! haha it was a beautiful city which we will defintly go back to!

Stockholm. We were looked after by andrea in stockholm, with a warm bed and awesome food :) she gave us a great tour of the city aswell and it was great to finally meet her.

Uppsalla. We met ida and canice in uppsala, and again we were spoilt with kindness...homemade burgers and chips when we arrived, and canice gave us his bed which was very comfy! i returned their kindness with a proper english breakfast with poached eggs :)

the downs...

Prices. a pizza in oslo cost us 190 norwegian krone (about 20 pound) and it was on offer as well!

The night bus to stockholm. We decided to sit in the seats closest to the toilet stupidly, and was constantly woken up by either the door being slammed or a bad smell. not much sleep their.

Cheese sweats. I ate far too much cheese...became sweaty.

Overall the trip to hudik was fun and we had some great times. Thankyou so much Andrea and Ida and Canice and all of your psychology friends for being so welcoming.

Much Love!

Köttfärrslimpa! Meatloaf!

Oh lalaa.

Dave has made meatloaf, im so incredible impressed.
It all started with Mandy Dave and me sitting in the livingroom talking about food, (when do we not talk about food)... i started to think about meatloaf, havent thought about that for so long, and i thought, i have not eaten meatloaf for so long and i love it! same second, mandy is showing a recipe of MEATLOAF.
It was like she was sending the meatloaf-thought to me. Cool. So Dave desided to make it for tea tonight =) And yesrerday Mandy made a cheesecake that we can have for dessert.....Yeeahh we are in for a treat today maaaan!

I want to play poker tonight, but playing poker often ends with war...haha so maybe scrubble, but im crap so thats no fun eather..but i could do with some practise!
Josh wants to play Dave just said, so YEY! Scrubble it is! :)

On monday were going to swwweeden!! Or no were not, were going to norway...haha. Gna spend the whole day 3pm-23pm there. Walk around and inhale the beautiful norwiegen air! And probably go to some resturant where we can chill all night long:) Simply "have a beautiful night in Oslo" like Billy the vision and the dancers would put it!

Ovvvver and out

Living in a tent!

In july, me and Dave had a beautiful tent experience in Cornwall. It lasted a good 2 weeks time, we felt like home in our precious 5 man tent, which we could stand in, even the tall Dave. We had everything we needed in there.. and a whole kitchen, it was Daves baby. He made me great food every day, what a man. And the day we arrived the sun was out shining down on us, totally fooling us to believe it was gna continue that way, hah.
And no other tents around us eather..great we thought...until the next day when we were waking up by some kids full of new holiday energi running around screaming and punching on our precious tent. How could they?Actually I think it was only our tent they were torturing.
It continued like that every day. But we kept strong and learned to live with it.

Then one day, like topping on the cake, i was in the girls shower when a drunk old man comes in...USCH! And he went in to have a shower aswell, laughing out loud to him self, coughing and even punching the walls. I was scared and had to hide in my shower until he was gone. From that day Dave had to stand outside the girls shower room every time i needed a wash.

And oh yeah, we had some pets too...loads of nasty slugs and they were crawling on the walls n floor, which made it hard for me to live a normal life as slugs are my biggest fear. Dave had to act hero again and kill them all, with salt. It worked quite well.

And ofcourse we thought we were gna spend every day on the beach..getting tanned, swimming and play volleyball with other kids..but weather and distans made it very difficult to do that. And when we once made it to the beach, Dave got shouted at for swimming. Nice. But we played volleyball and bought some nice necklaceses(spelling?) from a mysterious man who were tanned, had blond long hair and yeh..he was like taken from a film. So with buying those necklaces from that man we helped a little village in africa. Good.

So yeh, we had some really ace times too, Cornwall is beautiful and i want to live there when im old.
And we had great film nights at jess and martins house thanks a lot for that! And some party nights where one night dave invented a crab dance, so it was all worth it in the end!!!
And we visited EDEN. That was amazing.

Ill give you some pics;

Let the right one in!

You know you've watched a good film when it is all you can think about the next day. I am trying to tell as many people I can about 'Let the right one in' because it is the most poetic yet brutal film I have ever come across. It makes up for the big budget, hollywood drab that is constantly in production. The sort of film that insists you read the book. (which I will buy tomorrow).

Oh and by the way, big budget hollywood drab is re-making this in its big budget hollywood way...so do what you can to either watch or read the original.

Yeh...Awesome film.

Made pork and lamb kebabs tonight with tzatziki and sweet pointed peppers; and johanna made the most incredible raspberry panacotta. (No kitchen catastrophes tonight)

Johanna smiles and says hello :)

DO IT!
Posse out. x x

crumbs on the floor

Last night was one of the most humbling experiences in my recent culinary adventures. The chilli con carne a week a go that johanna gave a '2' out of ten was not as bad as this.

I was preparing a 'garlic breaded chicken' for me, johanna, and dad, with a side of mash potato and salad. I had just finished preparing the breaded coating, by bashing the crap out of 12 cream crackers and mixing them all with finely chopped parsley, butter and garlic. The whole process took a very tiring ten minutes.

Johanna came over to check on how things were going for me, and before she could finish asking, i had dropped the plate of crumbs i had prepared all over the kitchen floor. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I couldn't start again because i had used all of the crackers. So i had to be creative. Being creative when all you can think about is the moment my cherished plate of crumbs hit the floor is a hard thing to do. Johanna put up with my stroppy-ness and encouraged me to do something different with all the chicken we had just bought.

It turned out very nice in the end. We seasoned the chicken with lemon zest and pepper, wrapped it in parma ham, and fryed it off. Johanna also made an amazing cream sauce which complimented it beautifully. After this i googled 'how to cope with failure' because i was so ashamed with my stroppy reaction.

Failure is feedback. Always rethink and try again with a more focussed and improved attitude.

I wish i had this last night, but i think i will consider this the next time something goes wrong for me.

Peace and love,

Dave x x x
